Are you working to cultivate a congregation or faith community where every member lives out their faith in ordinary spaces? We help communities discover a vision of faith where the gospel shapes all of life, the ordinary is recognized as sacred, and everyday work is counted as worship, an offering to God.
The Institute of Mission, Church, and Culture offers practical learning experiences, concrete theological resources for local ministry, and approachable guidance to shape meaningful discipleship practices.
EXPERIENTIAL SEMINAR
How can churches disciple Christians to be on mission in their city in ways that encompass their daily work and organic life in the community?
At this seminar, you will be introduced to the process of developing a culture of discipleship where each person (congregant) is woven into the fabric of God’s story. Empowered to be the primary agents of the church’s mission: to be priests in their daily work, life, and relationships.
PARTICIPATORY RETREAT
Are you longing for spiritual practices or ministry models that cultivate a deeper connection and intimacy with God?
During this retreat, you will join a community of like-minded people. Together, you will be guided in the practice of opening your hearts to God through the Psalms. Through the instruction and participatory exercises, you will learn to both receive and offer the gift of acceptance, vulnerability, and trust.
EQUIPPING FAITHFULNESS
Are you overwhelmed by the choices when looking for trusted resources for your own spiritual enrichment, or to assist you with the church you are serving?
We both develop and curate resources from our rich reformed perspective that are aimed at providing concrete theological insights. Our resources are designed to inform and shape your thinking, while inspiring embodied action among the community you serve.
Hear from those who've attended our most recent Work & Worship Seminar in Tempe, Arizona. Participants come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but all have the desire to more closely integrate their faith with their daily lives.
Since 1876, Calvin Theological Seminary has cultivated resources and instruction that meet the needs of the church. The Institute for Mission, Church, and Culture is an expression of this mission, forming servant-leaders who are fully equipped in their calling.
