For nearly 150 years, Calvin Theological Seminary has cultivated resources and instruction that meet the needs of the church. While focusing on the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Christ in the world's story, and the world's desperate need for God's grace, we serve the church by inviting those who wrestle with the enduring and timeless questions of mercy, justice, faith, and formation to join us as they pursue their call.
Our vision is to see equipped, wholly formed leaders cultivating healthy and grace-filled church communities that take scripture seriously, see Christ as central to our understanding of God's story of the world, and are active participants in God's story of renewal to their communities.
Our education and whole person formation come from a shared understanding of God's Word as articulated in the Reformed tradition.
We are formed by and serve the church, God's agents of hope and renewal in the world.
We give our students tools to sow the gospel in a multicultural world. We challenge one another to have hearts that engage the broader world.
We cultivate meaningful relationships to foster personal and spiritual growth throughout out learning community.
As a faithful steward of Reformed thought and leadership, Calvin Theological Seminary committed to publishing The Calvin Forum Magazine in 1935. Although the format and frequency has changed throughout the years, we continue to write, curate, and offer thought provoking articles that speak to the mind, heart and soul, promoting a humble posture of pursuing wisdom. Through the Forum Magazine, Calvin Theological Seminary provides content steeped in our rich history in order to be formed for service in God's Kingdom.
Looking to the future, we will continue to publish The Forum Magazine 2-3 times per year (printed and digital formats), while expanding to this digital platform allows us to, add podcasts, articles, videos, and other content from the Seminary and our ministry partners, such as Lifelong Learning (LLL) and the Institute for Mission, Church, and Culture (IMCC)
